I scored a WWII bench grinder a year ago post auction.
Take 10"x1.5" stones.
The auction bidder took it up twice what I was willing to pay.
He unbolted the grinder and took the cast stand for a hall table abandoning the functioning grinder!
Whats worse is that when the fad passes all the cool stuff divorced from it's critical parts, and drilled out for lamp cords will go to a land fill...

When I was in college, back when dinosaurs ruled the earth, I worked for a fellow who bought up old treadle sewing machines, just so he could use the drawers for spice cabinets. I bought one of the "leftovers" and used it as a sewing machine. What a concept!

A few years later, the pendulum had swung to where people just wanted the fancy pedestals, to use as tables. I went into a flea market, and saw a huge pile of sewing machine drawers.

What goes around, comes around...

I know what you mean guys , I've been looking for a pair of cast iron legs for my Craftsman 618 lathe . Every time I find a pair the ad says something like , will make a steampunk table and I'll take $600 . . (barf) .
