you can probably ask "littlemachineshop.com" or look in their "chris's tips" in the sherline backing plate listing and see
I know they are both 3/4 16tpi

I may have to go that route with a backing plate from little machine shop. From what I see about the taig chuck the screws are recessed and an area would have to be machined out so more threads would grab on the sherline.
