SB 9 - 36" Model A Leadscrew

I recently purchased a SB 9 model B with a 36" leadscrew. I want to install a quick change gearbox that I bought and need a 36" A leadscrew. Any ideas where I can get one or have mine modified? Thanks.

I do not know where to source an "A" leadscrew, but Halligan142 has a couple of videos on converting his model "A". You may need to find someone locally with a lathe who can modify your "B" leadscrew.

Now it looks like I'm going to have to cut down my existing leadscrew. Does anyone know where I can find technical drawings of a 36" Model A leadscrew?I have a machinist friend that would like to work from drawings rather than measure and cut. Thanks.

I'm guessing your leadscrew is too large to pass through the spindle? Otherwise you could do it on your lathe? (with the proper dimensional info)

Thanks for answering back. I'm a little hesitant to cut this myself as I'm a Musical Instrument Repair Tech. Not a machinist. LOL The machinist that is helping me just wanted to try and find blueprints of the correct leadscrew to work from. We can cut it on this lathe but would have to take the appropriate measurements and go from there.
