I have a Rockwell tool & cutter grinder that just ate it's belt. Rockwell part # 49-085, a 35 inch flat belt 3/4 inch wide. These are apparently scarce as chicken lips. Anyone have an idea as to where to find one? Without this part I have a boat anchor.

Is there a reason why you cannot use a leather belt or a multi groove automotive rubber belt on it?

Maybe turn an auto belt ,run the grooves out then it's all flat. Leather belt may work , there pretty good . The nation ran on them for over a century.

McMaster sells 3/4" x .078" Urethane flat belts in any length from 12" to 1200".

This is a rather high speed grinder and vibration from a splice will be transferred to the part and it's finish. Tool grinders are fickle beasts.

New England Belt can make anything, send them dimensions and materials, you will have it in a week, very good prices.
