Rikon 1HP Grinder - funny noise

Hi all, I picked up a Rikon 1HP grinder off amazon and when I power the grinder off, it makes funny noise and the light attachment flashes half way through the spin down. Doesn't seem right to me, but my only experience is on a $3 garage sale grinder. Anybody else have a Rikon with this "feature"?

I have a "slow speed" Rikon grinder which does not have a light. I do not know why the light turned off, but the flash at the 38 second mark coincides with noise of the centrifugal switch closing ready for the next start. I have no idea why/how the light is interacting with the shut down sequence.

Thanks Dave, that information helped. I looked up the centrifugal switch and the noise makes sense now. I'll reach out to rikon tech support, but I can definitely live with the odd flash of light.

i wonder if the grinder becomes a generator for a moment on the spindown
