Replaceable Tool Insert Education

I have several well used mill and lathe cutting tools that use replaceable inserts. As luck would have it most of the inserts are chipped or broken. I am asking for help in identifying the types of the various inserts so that I can buy replacements.

The catalogs I have looked at tell me a lot, but not near enough!

Can anybody help with my education?

Welcome to the forum, davemac. Do the holders have any numbers on the to identify the maker? That will get us a start. There are some standards in the nomenclature of inserts, but let's try going by the manufacturer first. Pictures would help if you can post some.
