I just had to share raging review about this saw (see what I did there.. Rage 2.. Raging..)..

I LOVE this tool! I had a horizontal band saw and it had the advantage of "start it and walk away", but it was not very accurate and had size limitations; both on what it could cut and as related to shop space.

I sold it and bought the 14" Rage 2 chop saw. This thing will cut anything! It's fast, and is not an abrasive type saw so there is little heat transfer. It's also very accurate.

I've cut a lot of aluminum with it and a some drill rod. Today, I had to cut a 3" long chunk of 1 1/2" diameter 4140 steel bar for a drive shaft coupler I'm making. The cut was accurate, took about 15 seconds, and I could pick up the cut part with bare hands; barely warm.

The blade is as good as new after cutting aluminum, stainless, tool steel, drill rod and the 4140.

Of course I now need to bore a 3/4" hole lengthwise into that 4140 and not really looking forward to that...

:+1: on pic's . We love tool porn around here.

I have the makita saw one and we just cut a 2 in. hitch solid steel not tube like butter.

I have a dry cut saw also it does work good. Blades are a little pricey, but it does the job better than the abrasive chop saw.

It looks nice but how much are the blades for that thing.

Blades from Northern are around $72.00 , but they last quite well. I think there are places the can sharpen them and replace busted teeth. It don't leave much of a bur .

I have a Morse dry cut saw. It's awesome. I've made 100+ cuts with the blade in both alum and steel and it's still rockin. Made quick, accurate work of cutting all of this aluminum to length.

I'll definitely look into getting the blade sharpened rather than buying a replacement when the time comes.
