The SB Heavy 10L which I bought and have been slowly restoring came with a Dorian BXA tool post. My question is this, is the BXA tool post too large for my machine? Before I tore the lathe apart, I lubed, ran and cut a couple test pieces using the BXA tool post and had success. I was able to get to center heigth without a problem but just did some facing and turning to diameter. I am wondering if maybe trying to do some other operations using different tool holders like parting, threading or boring I might have a unforeseen problem. I like the idea of the BXA for more stability. You know, "bigger and heavier is better"
Any input would be appreciated!!
Thanks
Ray

I'm thinking that is the perfect size for that lathe. I don't own one of those lathes but hopefully someone who does will also answer.
