parallel clamps

I put a 1/8" roll pin through them and ground the ends flush.

Mark, just out of curiosity, how did you attach the knurled knobs on the allthread? Did you just press them on with an interference fit and pin them or did you thread them on and pin them? I am only guessing at pinning them, in one of the pictures it looks like a roll pin is visible through the knurled knob.

Thanks.

Yea, I didn't have my mill when I made these so I sawed the angle on my HF band saw and polished on the belt sander.

DRS, They are a retainer to hold the threaded rod in the clamp.

Mark, What method did you use to get the tapered nose on the clamps?

Cheers Phil

As requested here is the print for my toolmaker's clamp and a better photo. The dimensions can be altered for any size clamp you want to make. this size suits most of my needs.

I hope this helps those who wanted more info. Sorry about the poor print quality. Since my printer crapped out I haven't been able to save my prints with good quality.

I think Mr. Pete has drawing on this type of clamp. I will see if I can find the link. Here it is below.
