Nut line up tool.

Heres what i use to line up nuts that need welded to an item and the bolt has to line up nice. Its a turned down shaft with the id of the nut on the end with the dia of the hole on the bigger end. Works perfect and i have them from 1/4" to 2"...Bob

Nice job! My tool is less accurate, I just use the bolt. Not only does it locate it but it also holds it in place while I weld. Thanks for the post.
 
The title caught me off guard. I thought there was a new line for me to stand in. :lmao::lmao: Simple and effective tool.

Make it out of brass or copper and the weld won't stick to it is accidentally you get too close
 
That's a pretty sweet first lathe project idea! Thanks! I always just went jurry rig style on it and used the bolt and then didn't tighten all the bolts until they were all threaded once or twice first.
