is there any non grinding on the chuck method of truing hardened jaws? Don

What I am thinking is to dial in and then remove the lowest jaw and grind it removed from the chuck. Lets say the dial indicates the high spot of .005, I would take the low jaw of and grind it .0025. Don

All of my chuck jaws have curved faces. To do a good grind, you would have to match the curvature on all the jaws. Otherwise, different diameters of stock will seat differently. In addition, the angle, front to back will have to be matched. The only way I could see this done would be to set up a jig to locate the jaw and grind all three (or four or six) jaws to the same profile.
