Basic questions for the Pro's

Just got my Griz 0704 & finally having a chance to play/get used to using a mill

Seems to have a lot of vibration & squealing. Kinda worried to break something so thought I d ask here

Cutting mild steel / HSS .375 bit in a tool holder
Using the formula
(cutting speed x 4) / tool dia= rpm

(90 x 4)/ .375 = 960 rpm

Tool bit : 4 flue HSS

work : .750 x .750 mild steel. Held in a new Glacern vise

manual feed lite cuts .010 feed opposite direction of cutter rotation

The squealing starts as soon as i enter the cutter

Thanks

The old saying is that thing is screaming for more feed. Slow your rpms down some and feed a little heavier and avoid climb milling.

WoW!!
Really?

I am feeding slow....new guy cautious

pretty sure I m not climb milling...feeding opposite cutter rotation

will up the feed
tks
