I have recently purchased a SB 9a from the grandson of the Machinist who originally purchased this lathe in 1940. I received all the tools, bits, and original paperwork, including catalogs from Brown & Sharpe and Starrett. This lathe originally was shipped in 1937, according to the paperwork. I am in the process of doing a complete restore and although I have the original 39th addition of South Bend's "How to Run a Lathe", it is just general information. Does anyone know where I would find and download an owner's manual on this fine piece of American iron?

Hello @Rd2nowr

First, Welcome to the site!

I have a SouthBend 9" about the same vintage. It's neat that you know the trail back to the original owner.
That Dumore grinder will come in very handy (with the precautions of covering the ways from the grinding dust).

If you haven't found our downloads section yet you can find it here:
http://hobby-machinist.com/resources/

Here is the SouthBend section:
http://hobby-machinist.com/resources/categories/south-bend.34/

If you do not find what you need there, provide a catalog/model number I can dig thru the info I have at home and see if I do.

Good Luck!
