I just bought "most" of a QC54 to use as donor parts to upgrade my V42 to a QC42.
Here are some pictures as I got it.

As can be seen the qcgb has a bent and broken shift arm. (I assume these are Zamak and did not think it would bend).
I doubt it can be repaired. If I can find one cheap enough I will buy one otherwise it should be an interesting project to make one (or 2).

It also came with this collet closer. I don't think it is an Atlas part. The only marking I see is

P.PFANDER
Endersbach
I.R.

Excellent, I look forward to seeing it come together.

Is it just an artifact in that 3rd picture, or are those gears trashed?

Yes the small gear on the spindle and the small back gear are indeed trash. When I grabbed the spindle gear to pull it off it crumbled in my hand like it was made from plaster.
The rest of the gears are quite nice.

Got it back together as stage 1. Now its a TV42 .
I couldn't believe how long it took to get that one large hold down bolt in the chuck end of the headstock installed !

I started on the rebuilding of the QCGB for stage 2 upgrade to QC42.
I haven't found a hint of levers # 1506 so I guess it will be an adventure making a pair.

Here is a rare dual headstock 10 f
