Hello,
I want to wire my 2hp to a vfd for 220v. The back plate of my motor plate has a picture layout for both 220 and 440..both of the configurations are the same. I am including the picture and can anyone tell me why they are the same wiring configurations? Thank you all for your help

By the way it's a 3 phase motor

They aren't... note that the 220v connections have 4-5-6 linked together, 1 linked to 7, 2 linked to 8, 3 linked to 9.
440v has 7 linked to 4, 8 to 5, 9 to 6.

3-phase power's applied to 1, 2 and 3 in both cases.
What's happening is that for 220v two windings are connected in parallel, for 440 in series so each winding has 220v across it. Simples.
