Need boring head recommendations

I forgot to mention that the latest models from Criterion do not have a flexible gib. Unlike older models, the newer ones use socket head cap screws instead of set screws and have no ball bearings under them.

I was on the Mcmaster-Carr website ordering 9/64" ball bearings when, just for fun, I searched for a boring head. They have one, made in the USA, for $225. Who else makes these in the US? I got mine (used Criterion) for $150 shipped.

They claim it's made in the USA. I have seen it cheaper from other vendors.

As RWM replied, it doesn’t matter if it’s not perfect. This is the main reason single point boring is so prevalent. It make straight and true holes within the limitations of the machines spindle.

I have one of those APT's. They're quite nice.
