Mystery tool arrived with a recent ebay purchase.....what the heck is it???

So I order some MT2 JT3 tapers from a big ebay seller and I get a second part thrown in...I am sure by mistake.

I am arranging to return it, but for the life of me I have no idea what the heck it is!!!



So...what is it? About 8 inches long. Brass part looks like the parts on a steady rest.

Ideas?

No update. Store never got back in touch with me.

Still don't know what it is!!!

So whatever it is ....I got one!!!
