I'm working on building myself a new dedicated .22RF rifle. Since these special barrels extend into the receiver further than a normal center-fire rifle, I needed to modify my regular DPMS upper receiver block in order to make it usable with the rim-fire assembly. As I was setting up the receiver block in the mill vice to make the clearance cut for the .22LR barrel, I also started thinking about making a new bore guide for cleaning the gun as well. The guide I have now inserts into the center-fire chamber and again, won't work with the rim-fire upper. :headscratch:
And then it hit me...... :*****slap:
Drill a hole through it dummy!
So now it works as a receiver block and a bore guide and works with both rim-fire and center-fire uppers.
Patent pending. :lmao:
