Morse taper size Atlas 12" 109 series tailstock

I am looking to buy a live center for my tailstock but my current solid tailstock doesn't have the size or any numbers on it. I have read two different sizes, 2mt and 3mt. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Don't know about your atlas 12 but my Craftsman commercial 12 has #2 in tail stock , #3 in headstock

Thanks EL, mine is also a 12" commercial. This probably explains why I have a MT reducer that I can put into my headstock which allows me to put my solid center in the headstock. I am therefore sure that I have the same size you do. Thanks very much for such a quick reply.

go to the machinery handbook and loot up tapers. it will give you the size and you can measure the od. of the large end then you will now for sure that size yours is.
