Freres, must have had a lot of time on his hands. Exquisite work, but I'd rather have something that shoots.

When you consider the movement of the bird and the fact that he made it sing with all mechanical means. material acting on material to make sounds that still chirp after 200 years. simply amazing. It also clearly focuses the reality that mechanical devices powered by kinetic energy can endure. Modern digital devices or electromechanical devices are more or less disposable. I can not think of any modern devices that could be run after 200 years. JB
