I just managed to find a fly cutter to use on my my PM25MV. However it is a 10.5-pound steel disc. It did not look that heavy in the pictures. (I thought it was aluminum)
Is this too heavy for my mill? If so, by how much? Can I lighten it by drilling some holes through it? .

As long as it is well balanced, I wouldn't think it a problem. It will have more inertia and take longer to spin up to speed and back down but the real issues are the cutting forces as they will be unbalanced and place a load on the bearings. If you are cutting a large diameter, you will be running at a fairly slow speed anyway.

How does it mount? Does it have an integral R8 mounting? What is the largest diameter you are anticipating?

It is mounted on an R8 adapter with 1/2 key ways. I got it to flatten the surface of a 10"x 12" plate that I want to turn into a fixture plate for my drill press. I assumed the reach of a larger fly cutter would compensate for the lack of y travel to do the whole thing in one set up.

That extra mass (inertia) will probably make it work better.
