I wanted to make some chips with this lathe just to give it a bit of a shake down before passing it on. It came with a collet closer, a 3 jaw chuck with soft jaws, and a 4 jaw with the wrong size mounting plate. I wouldn't want a lathe without a 4 jaw, so it seemed like a good project. I removed the mounting plate and mounted it in the 3 jaw. I needed 2 3/8-6 and the plate was 2 1/8-8. Bored, threaded, reassembled and put to work. Interal threading is not my forte but it turned out well and using the soft jaws kept the plate true to the spindle. The last pic is a 0.150 DOC on a piece of mystery metal. 20170219_074537.jpg 20170219_150925.jpg 20170219_075538.jpg
