Making a repro 1858 Remington revolver shoot accurately

Why they make the bores too large MAY be to avoid possible dangerous explosions if the gun is not properly loaded. Chisel makers these days are sometimes making their chisels too sdoft to avoid law suits from people who may get a sliver of steel in their eyes when a hard chisel shatters.

In my opinion,Sorbey chisels are a good example. They used to be a GOOD maker of tools many years ago. I have had to re harden lathe chisels we had from the 1960's. They were grossly too soft. At least they held an edge longer, but I have no idea if they were also using lower grade carbon tool steel.
