Local Excitement

I guess acetylene will be in a short supply for the Tyler area for a while. :frown:

It don't take much to upset acetylene either. Very unstable. I'm sure one of the cylinders being filled didn't have the right amount of acetone in it and or right amount of pressure, causing it to became unstable. I'm amazed that no one got hurt.

Yeah we've only got one other supplier at this time, although there were 3 a while back. But this one was the better of the two. Apparently these cylinders were stored separately from the main building, so that helped prevent any injuries. I drove by yesterday and from the front of the place it didn't seem hurt at all. I doubt they will be closed for long. They still had 2 firetrucks there watching the burn, but I imagine by today it's all over and they can get in and look around.
