I have a Leblond Regal 13x30 lathe. I am new to machining (home hobbyist). My drill chuck has the tang on the end of the taper and when I want to remove it, I just crank the wheel and it pops out. I didn't pay attention to my live center which has a shorter morse taper. The first time I used it, I was able to remove it, although it took some doing. Yesterday, I used it again and it really got stuck. I went online for suggestions and someone said that on certain tailstocks, you can extend the ram completely out and remove it easily. I tried it and it worked. I removed it and used a rod through the center and pop the live center out. Live and learn. Now, I am searching for the correct length morse taper. Or ???
