Hi Rick,

Sorry I do NOT have experience with that make, but I am surprised that no one here has responded.
Somebody here must have had one at some point.

Here's one site with some info:
http://www.lathes.co.uk/kerry/page2.html
http://www.lathes.co.uk/kerry/index.html

Did it come out of a local business? (I did a couple summers at Stegg Ltd. in Belleville, and there was (is?) a small machine shop just North of Foxboro Senior Elementary School.)

Perhaps you could drum up some responses with pictures. (not sure if you need a minimum number of posts before you can post pics though...)

Do you have any specific questions or concerns?
Many lathes are very similar with only a few makers and then badged differently.
Most controls and operations are identical between most makes.

I bought it from a guy north of Barrie , he was a hobby train guy , built steam engines that you can ride on , passed away sudden , so his wife sold it , I got a truck load of tooling with it , came with a new digital read out , a new single to 3 phase convertor , 2 - 4 jaw chucks , 2 - 3 jaw chucks , a Jacobs chuck , a big grinder on a stand , cabinet full of cutting , drilling , dial indicators , over 60 end mill bits , boring bits and lots of tooling I do not even know what it is for , I have never run one , so hoping one of the local colleges will have some night courses this winter , I have a nice little bench top atlas that I have never turned on that going to sell , just picked up a nice knee mill with auto feed , and a cutting fliud pump , funny thing I have never ran any of these tools , but always wanted to . I paid 800.00$ for the lathe and all the tooling and other equipment that came with it.not the knee mill.

Rick,

It sounds like you have a pile of good equipment and now just need some experience.

Here's a thread with some good reference projects, books and videos:

Don't be afraid to ask questions here. There are a number of postings from people just trying to identify accessories.
It is a great bunch of people willing to help anyone.

Late to this thread, just happened to check this forum and noticed the Kerry title.

My father bought a new or near-new Kerry 1124 when he started his shop in 1969. He had it for about 20 years and during that time we ran a lot of parts with it. There was a steady job that needed a 1" hole put through the hub of a cast iron plate cam. I probably did that a few thousand times over high school and college summers - looked a bit like a coal miner at the end of the day.

I don't remember any problems with the machine. The gap bed was only taken out for a couple oddball jobs.

Hope you are enjoying yours.
