Hey all, I have been fixing this old K&T mill for the better part of a year. I had brazed these bevel gears teeth back up as they were broken. Well it worked during my test runs but unfortunately when I put it under a little more load the teeth broke off and that's not good. I had reached out to some companies that have parts but they want way to much money for these parts but I'm not sure what to do about it now.

Yes welding and recutting is one way or making them from scratch even
How much do they want for the parts? Several hundred each?

looks like both of the bevel gears need replacing. If you have a lathe, I'd look into what off the shelf bevel gear pairs I can find and how I could adapt them to this machine. Sometimes you can get lucky and only need to turn off the existing gears then bore the new ones to fit. Weld and or dutch key to retain them.
