[How do I?] I Need Info. On My Newly Aquiered Delta Milwaukee Surface Grinder

You didn't say what year and model your machine is. There are several manuals for various models available online here's one:

Here's a brochure for an older version with some information and specs:

There's a manual for sale on e bay. It's a reprint from Ozark Woodworker:

There's even a Yahoo Group dedicated to the ToolMaker Grinders:

In the attachments section there are several write ups about disassembling and refurbishing the machine

Thanks for all your hard work in getting these sites. I did find my exact on on the Mikestool.com and it is a bit differant then the one you posted http://www.mikestools.com/download/Delta-Parts-Lists/24-105-Surface-Grinder-Old-Style-G5.pdf called the older style.

I did sign on to the Yahoo site which I did not know existed, never gave it a thought even though I belong to the Burke Millrite and Rockwell lathe site.

I have sent some question on the ebay manual and maybe ordering that for my grinder.

Joined the Yahoo group and they had all the manuals and info I needed in there files. look like you need to back out the small screw in the center and tap with a soft hammer to pop it off. So I no longer need to order the manual off ebay. May give it a try tomorrow. wrote to mike part about a flange that is missing or I can make one. It was not easy to gather the info. but all you where so helpful and I thank you.

UPDATE: I loosened the thick inside washer and brought the center hex out pass the flange and tapped it with a lead hammer and the wheel and flange came off as a unit. JOB COMPLETE for now, next to clean it up dress the wheel and true in the table and mag base.

Is this your first grinder? Or first time operating one?
When you grind in the chuck make sure it is in the on position when you do it.
From how your calling it a mag base I'm thinking your new to the surface grinder no?

I have only used a surface grinder once b4 in a machining tech. class and made some parallels. I guess it is really a magnetic chuck. But I am very new to the use of this tool

Keep in mind the ToolMaker grinder wheel rotates counter clockwise. Most other grinders have a clockwise rotation. You'll need to think left handed when making setups.

thanks that is unusual the thread on nut is right handed, I am looking for the flange that goes against the wheel, it shows one in the parts break down, I only have the screw on nut.
