DeWALT Recalls Nearly 1.4 Million Miter Saws Due to Injury and Laceration Hazards

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled miter saws and contact DeWALT for details on how to receive a free repair kit or to take their saw to a DeWALT service center for a free repair. DeWALT is directly contacting all known purchasers.

Only 1.4 million to repair.

I ordered the repair kit. The install video is a joke but I think I can figure it out. Or I can just rip the blade guard off and go with that.
Seriously though, it is a nice saw and makes very clean cuts. I just did some crown with it.

I also saw this recall. I know that both of my Dewalt miter saw are older than the 2019-2022 affected date range. They must have made a change to the design in 2019? I wonder how much the accountant-engineers shaved off the production costs by making the change? I also wonder where they are working now?

Robert, thanks for posting that here. I don't have that saw, but I bet many here do and have NOT seen the recall.
You may have saved some people some injuries.

Yep, I've got one. Will check the date on it tomorrow. It has been a great saw!
