I had a great day today, went land sailing.

When I was about 17 years old, I found a home made land/sand sailer at a yard sale, and went in with a couple of friends to buy it. It was a blast! We lived in So. Calif. and went out to El Mirage dry lake in the desert to ride it. It was awesome being up on two wheels, tacking hard across the wind at close to 50 mph, keeping a tenuous balance between losing speed and tipping past the balance point.

Those sailboard masts/sails you are using are expen$ive!
Ours was simple aluminum pole, and low-end sail cloth with battens in pockets.

I have always wanted to try that and ice boating. I have done a ton of multi-hull sailing. I like going fast via wind power 8^)
