The last thing your wife wants is to step on a sharp piece of swarf in your home.

How do you control and clean up chips and swarf in a home shop?

put an electro-magnet above your tools? (no good for aluminum)
put a chip pan under the lathe and a plexiglass shelf that sticks out about 7" beyond the bench?
mount a piece of plexiglass on a magbase that rides on my saddle to deflect the chips?
change your shoes when you am done in the shop?
don't wear pants with cuffs?
wear high top shoes with tough soles and heels?
clean out your hair and beard before leaving the shop?
check your shirt pockets for chips before leaving the shop?
install a serious built-in vacuum cleaner in the house, with an outlet for your use around the machines?

Let us hear your ideas!

Thanks,

Nelson
