This mill just popped up for sale about five miles from here. Somehow I don't think it will make it through my barn door.

No pictures. In my apprecticeship, one of the machines I trained on was an old Giddings and Lewis horizontal. it had a digital readout on it, the numbers were tiny glass tubes all numbers 10 deep, you saw the ones lighted up, no matter how far back in the head. The spindle was either 5 or 6 inches in diameter and the table was large enough for a very friendly square dance. We never used it to capacity.

Tom's quote: "it had a digital readout on it, the numbers were tiny glass tubes all numbers 10 deep, you saw the ones lighted up, no matter how far back in the head."
The old NIXIE tube or cold cathode displays. I still have a couple of volt ohm meters that use NIXIE tubes. I remember when I was a kid and first saw one and thought
"man, thats the coolest thing that I ever have seen". Ah, those were the days.

CHuck the grumpy old guy
