Horizontal Bandsaw Speed

I have been playing around with the saw and I have been able to cut a 2" pipe dry. I cranked down on the blade tension as much as I could by hand, and it doesn't seem to be throwing the blade anymore. It does have hydraulic down feed, and I slowed it to a crawl. I seems crazy to run dry seeing the price of blades. I will probably be kicking myself for trading the saw, the problem is I just don't have room for it. I do have room for the stainless steel 9mm Beretta I am getting in trade. Momma's not too happy, but she wasn't very happy when I brought the saw home either.
Thanks to all for the advice,
Mark

I run my little 4x6" bandsaw dry,but I run it at the lowest fpm: 75 fpm, which is slow enough to saw armor plate. I know I could get better blade life with coolants. At the rate I use it,the blade lasts very long anyway. I just don't want the mess on the floor.

I speed it up for brass and aluminum, but for any kind of steel,I just leave it on slowest. Same with my vertical and with my Roll In bandsaw.
