Hobby machining on a SMALL scale

I've browsed that guy's work before. I'd like to see that stuff in person, and see them run. Excellent work that man does. I can barely imagine the mindset required to do that. Much like a horologist.

I love it!!! I was in north central PA about 20 years ago, when I met this guy at a party up there, he was dressed in a railroad outfit and I asked him if he was a railroader, he said retired, but still do railroad stuff. Few of us went to see his place about a mile away. He was a self taught machinist and building a railroad, tracks and all, the kind you ride in parks with the kids. He made 3 complete engines and cars and about 90% done on his 4th. engine. We had to ride one of them, and so we did. He did all of this after he retired from the railroad and uses all scrap mat'l that people gives him. A friend of mine was with us, he is a machinist and he was amased at the site of this guy's work. A true artist that had the wrong calling in life.
