Help! Machine oil question

Hey all, my Shopmaster lathe needs the oil changed in the headstock and all the manual calls for is machine oil in it. Will Vactra #2 be ok to use in it? Its all I have and I have a project I want to do today. Thanks all!

I dont know what it calls for but id find out before substituting . If it looks feels and smells the same it can still be different. Even so it may be ok. Some oils react differently to seals and pressures .

Vactra 2 is way oil. Machine oil is a AW68 Hydraulic gear oil

Awesome thank you! Reason I ask if I could sub for Vactra is my other lathe calls for it in the apron and thought I could use it in this case! I will get the proper oil for it.
