I recently went flea marketing and came across this old drill press. The shop owner said to make an offer so I lowballed him for $15. We haggled back and forth for a few minutes, he was dead set on $25.
I said"Let me think about it as I look around some more".
I piddled around then bid him farewell, he stopped me and asked if I would give $20. It came home with me.
It needed some oil and work in back and forth, but it soon let loose and is running pretty smooth.

Just before my oldest brother passed away he gave me his.
I think they was manufactured in 1929
I haven't used mine yet as I don't know where I can mount mine (no open wall space).

Xi think it is usually referred to as a " post drill". In my neck of the woods $100 is about as cheap as you can find them. Even still they are rarely seen for sale. Great score.

Check out "vintagemachinery.org" on the net. They got 97 photo listings. On there it shows your #92 post drill.

Nice score. I have couple of post drill presses. Mine cost much more but the big one is 2 speed with a flat pully to run off the 1.5 to 2.5 hp international pump engine. I would probably hurt myself if I try to lift the big on. Also known as blacksmith drill press.

I have one by the same mfg. Notice it is equipped with an auto feed activated by an eccentric on the crank. The drill runs very well. I built a display mount and put it on an unusable wall area in my shop. It generates a lot of comments.

Wow Jake , Great Score!!!!
the drill table looks really good, but could use some scraping and flaking ! ;)

I make the greatest tool finds at flea markets, nice find.
JC's post gave me an idea, I collect old clocks and have wall space too small for a shelf to hold a clock but something vertical like a drill would fit nice. My wife is gonna love me. At one time, we had 18 clocks in the house chiming at least on the hour, some on the half or quarter hour too. Sometimes made sleeping near impossible. :cower:
