I made this up years ago for a stainless steel rail project...

railing had to be tig welded on site and grain finished ..

i used a snapon/bluepoint air 7" grinder polisher AT450

bottom 2 pics added a handle to my dynafile for more control

Any pics of the grain finish ?, what grit paper was used , straight grain or ?
I have some ss / al projects coming up that would look good with texture on them.
Thanks

Nice! We had one at a shop where I used to work, about like this:

http://www.globalindustrial.com/p/t...ed/metabo-se112-115-stainless-steel-burnisher

It was definitely Metabo, but not that model. Very tough tool, but it was hard to get the consistent finish we were looking for (any weaving was obvious with the heavy grit we used) so we upgraded to this one:

Yours looks MUCH more affordable. And good space savings as well. And if you ever need to do heavy texture on cheap A36 steel like we did you could just make a simple guide to keep your lines straight.

they were not made when I made mine..1999... I caught a guy taking pics of mine out on the jobsite..a couple years later they started popping up...
