Gotta cut some tool steel, need suggestions on best approach.

If you fall into a bucket of money, check into a true cold saw, such as Haberle or Scotchman. Not usually found in a home shop, but there can be rebuilders' specials if you keep your eyes open. I have one spotted, but not sure I want to mess with it.
 
Ed, I actually had the Enco one in my shopping basket at one point but the shipping was ridiculous, I think it added another $130 or so for a $200 piece of equipment. I just couldn't bring myself to do that. If I can get free shipping on that, well, like I said before, that could be a real game changer.

Tony, good suggestions. I'll put that on my list of things that I will get if it's a "falls into my lap" kind of deal. I just love quality equipment.
