Update Oct.4, 2016: I found a home for this bandsaw. I no longer have it.

I have a Craftsman metal-cutting band saw, model 108.22921, which needs work, that I want to give to someone who can use it. I'm posting some photos of the saw I have and an old ad for a similar model; and manuals for similar models.

It is missing the hydraulic feed cylinder that controls the drop of the saw into the material, but it worked fine for me, on the rare occasions that I used it, just lowering it by hand, until one of the "tires" (the friction bands that the continuous blade rides on) broke off and I took it apart to put a new tire on. (I was able to buy the tire through Amazon.) When I put it back together, the tire was fine, but the spiral drive gear now doesn't always engage and so the sawblade is not getting driven. I guess it needs a new nylon spiral drive gear (and maybe other work? - it could use new bushings for the drive shaft for sure), but I don't really use the saw and I don't want to take the time to do the work it needs.

I don't want to junk it because it is a fine piece of vintage machinery. I just want to get it to someone who could use it. I'm not asking any money. Just pick it up in New Hampshire here or pay for shipping and I'll get it to you.

Here are the photos of my saw and a manuals/parts lists for a similar one: Another similar manual/parts list is athttps://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8aOmnLr1A2qekc0UU5ISVdLS0E/view?usp=sharing

Unique, left hand saw. Would be much better than a comp sized HF saw, I'd say.

i think i have the exact saw but not near as good looking as yours. does a great job with a good blade and don't rush it. . . .

Mr Hickey,

I would like to commend you on saving that fine piece of machinery.
I wish more folks would approach it the way you have.

I suspect many people see no value in old tools, but I can assure you many people here do.
I hope the recipient of your generous offer manages to drop off a little thank-you at pick up time.
