Well, at the moment, I haven't done much with it other than clean it from "Stem to Stern". I have been just getting it to the point where I can use it but still have to find that elusive 374 manual. I found a 2 page advert but not the manual. I read here that you have one on the Army books area, but don't know where that is.
From the picture you posted, mine was about in the same shape. I disassembled it and cleaned things the best I could. Had some knobs with cross-threaded shafts that had to be worked over with a die. So far, it appears to be ready to go but I have absolutely no idea as to how to use it. I do have some small purple colored grinding wheels and a couple of small diamond wheels for it, though.
An old guy here who is very ill wanted all these machines out of his building so he could sell it. He advertised "free if you come get them" so I did. I have a lot of machines as noted in the initial posting on the "new guy" thread. I had a guy helping me (but he just stood still and let the 367 fall TWICE which damaged some critical items. The 357 made it ok. The SS1000, SF1000 and SR 1000 are all doing OK. I got the 330 working today, but it, like the SS1000 is missing a part that holds the circular saw blades. There are a lot of missing parts that appear to be critical to the operation of the machine so I have concentrated on just getting the grease and junk off all the moving parts and seeing what I can do about the rest. I have the 367 set up right (I think). I have the 357 set up right (I think).
I started working with the SF1000 and actually got a handsaw and a mitre saw sharpened. I retoothed that hand saw with the SR1000 and tried to use the SS1000 but am still having problems getting it to advance the saw blade.
I am such a rank amateur at all these machines. I managed to get a Smithy some years ago and have tried a few things with that. I still have a lot of problems with backlash in the controls and the instructions are not that good (or I'm just that bad).
Sorry to drift off topic here.
