JUST FINISHED WORK ON MY NEW BRAKE SUCKER MACHINE .
THIS IS A ONE MAN BLEEDER SETUP THAT USES A LAB GRADE FUMEX VACUUM PUMP
THAT I SCORED ON E-BAY .

IT WORKS BY CONNECTING THE INLET ON THE PUMP TO A BRAKE / CLUTCH BLEEDER
WITH A PIECE OF VINYL TUBING .

TURN ON THE PUMP AND IT WILL DRAW A 25" VACUUM IN THE SYSTEM AND HOLD IT .
OPEN THE BLEEDER SCREW AND FLUID WILL START FLOWING INTO THE COLLECTION JAR .

SINCE IT RUNS ON IT's OWN , YOU ARE FREE TO POUR NEW FLUID INTO THE RESERVOIR
AT THE OTHER END . LET IT KEEP FLOWING UNTIL FRESH NEW FLUID IS COMING THROUGH
THE LINE . THE FUMEX IS VERY SMOOTH & QUIET .

EASY DOES IT ! YOU CAN SUCK THE SYSTEM DRY IN MINUTES WHEN IT RUNS WIDE OPEN .

THE PUMP's RESERVOIR IS MADE FROM A QUART MASON JAR . THE FITTINGS AND
VACUUM GAUGE ARE ALL STANDARD PARTS . THESE ALL HAVE 1/4" NPT TAPER THREADS

IT IS A FAIRLY SIMPLE JOB TO MAKE THE CAP FROM A PIECE OF 2" ALUMINUM .
THE SETUP FOR THE SCREW PATTERN WAS DONE IN AN INDEXER ON MY MILL .

I DID USE SEALANT IN BETWEEN THE MASON JAR LID AND THE CAP .
IT IS EASY TO CHECK FOR LEAKS . JUST TURN IT OFF AND SEE HOW LONG
IT CAN HOLD THE VACUUM .

THE GLASS JAR LETS YOU SEE WHEN IT IS GETTING FULL .
IF IT EVER BREAKS , THEY HAVE NEW ONES AT THE GROCERY STORE .

THE AIR-LINE QUICK CONNECT MAKES IT A SNAP TO EMPTY THE JAR .

Nice setup. And if you're ever worried about sucking too much brake fluid through (and damaging the pump), you can simply turn the pump off. Your seal test verified that the jar will hold vacuum.

Same principal as mine, just finished last week. Mine was with a bulk pickle jar. I will tell you it is an AWESOME aid for someone doing brakes on a car!
