Does anyone know if they make a collet holder for ER 20 collets that fits a Sherline lathe/mill?
I received the collet set in a package deal and do not have a holder for them that fits anything.

I never saw an ER-20 chuck with a 3/4-16 thread. You would have to buy one and thread it, then bore the register.

Thanks I wasn't sure if a ER20 holder was available for the Sherline. As I said I received a set of collets in a package deal and do not have a use for them unless I can adapt them for use on the Sherline.

If you can find a chuck with enough wall thickness, you can try boring and threading it. Just include the register and it should work okay.

Here's a company that makes ER collet systems for the Sherline. But they start at ER25 and go up.

    Not Cheap though!

ER50 collets on a Sherline lathe? That's pretty absurd.

I've been using an er20 collet on my sherline mill. Already had the collets and purchased a cheap import chuck with Morse 1 shank. Drawbar thread is m6 so I made an m6 to 1/4-20 adapter and the thing works fine. The Morse shank protrudes about the same as the sherline/Jacobs drill chuck so it's not too bad. Everything runs true and the chuck cost 12 bucks including shipping.

I have a ER collet chuck on my Sherline as well. But what I did was go get me some long Metric bolts that I use for the draw bar. That way less items to go wrong. In fact I mainly use it even for light drilling vice the drill chuck as it has a lot of run out.

I made the adapter because I could't find a 120mm m6 bolt for the drawbar. In my case it was easier/quicker to thread the cut-off end of an m6 bolt and turn and tap the adapter. My inspiration came from a similar adapter used on EMCO Maximat milling heads. Best wishes,
