Engine Hoist Slow Leak - Help me Fix it!

I hate to be the bearrer of bad news, but your "AC DELCO" hoist is made in China (posibly in the same factory as the H-F). I would get the H-F replacement. If you figure the delco is $200, and the h-f is $40, thats five h-f to one delco. I personally would change the oil in whatever I buy before using it, because our friends from over the Pacific use a thinner and cheaper oil. Then I would have a hydrulic cilinder for disasembling and hacking into somthing else(read long stroke press ram, wood splitter, polished rod for cheacking a lathe).

the ad sez it is. sounds like a pretty reasonable fix to me. . . .

Yes, my hoist is a no name chinese from Checker/orielly Automotive and it was a direct replacement. 1 bolt on the bottom and a pin on the top.

I had the same problem. Tried the fluid deal. The rubber stopper is a bear to get back in.
That didn't fix it.
I went to harbor freight and they did not have the 2 ton cylinder so I got the 8 ton cylinder. Dropped right in and works fine. The only issue is that the higher the tonnage the more pumping it takes to move it.
