Yes, they are there to help you maintain the proper spacing and alignment when mounting the scales. Once that is done they are removed.
When mounting remove the screws that attach the sensor to the scale so that it can slide along the length or the scale. Once mounted
remove the entire thing.

I'm not familar with sinpro scales but those look like shipping brackets to keep the reader head from damaging the scales until you get it mounted.
