I have a few how-to books that I've scanned in the past. Way too much work. After reading this post about sharing books, I researched book scanning equipment. Found this site that used OS software and many design ideas. The link I've added is the new plastic tubing frame for twin cameras. Takes pix of both pages and they have post-processing software to do mass edit. Really cool!
The frame uses any camera you have, the biggest issue is automatically triggering the cameras. Canon's seem to be easiest to modify, but there are infra-red, USB as well as manual plunger designs also. Here are a few Youtube build instructions. I'll worry about camera selection next year. Enjoy...
