D1-4 To D1-3 Spindle Adapter

No, I have never seen any D1 adapter that mates to another D1 size. Its just easier to swap back plates or swap chucks.

What are you trying to accomplish exactly?

I agree with Michael, pretty sure nothing like that exists.
 
Just change the backing plate. If there was such a thing it would stick out so far that you would lose strength to hold it up . the closer you can hold stuff to the bearings the more ridged it is.
 
I have a Jacobs Rubber Flex collet chuck with out a back plate and a nice 3 jaw chuck with no back plate, that is why I am hunting an adapter.
