Hi folks. The Supermax YMC developed about .005 lash in X over the past year...year and half. I pulled the table off today to inspect and insure all is well. Nothing seems loose. seems really tight actually. Personally, I now think my issues was at end(s) and how it was snugged up before the motor and pully were put on.
My question: What else should I check while I have the top off? Do I clean up the screw? lub it before the re-assy?

Thanks everyone.
Jeff.

I would just look things over and make sure the lube system is working OK. If it ain't broke, you don't need to fix it.;)

All of the thrust should be on the pulley end bearing, the other end just floats. Does the ballnut feel like it has the proper preload? ''Proper preload'' to me is what feels right when I rotate the screw. In other words, a little, but not too much, resistance to rotation. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks. Pre-load 'feels' ok I guess. Would you happen to have a source for any good metal flexible lube line? OD is .15(ish) and ID I cannot tell, but .1 .12... somewhere in there seems right. I did a post when I first bought the mill. Nylon6 was noted for approved use w/ lub. Non-approved tubing for lubricants will just harden, crack and deteriorate quickly.

I would prefer the soft flexible aluminum tubing like it has on there but I just cannot seem to figure out where to buy a silly distribution block My distribution block is cracked and has JBWeld to seal it. Here is the tubing I think is on there.

The Oil-Flow regulator ends - Some are missing.(Or dirty/plugged). They seem rather expensive as well. Wondered if anyone has an easy source for those as well . Some are in the mill. Some are missing. Seems to me that would leave an unbalanced pressure. Some flow right thru w/ too much. others with the flow regulator will not get enough. anyway... making few calls today! will locate parts and post.

of course.... They have would have it! THANKSSSSSS Glad I yanked the table too. The Y ball screw oil line has popped out and was flopping around. Need to now figure out how to get down in there and re-seat it into the hole. 3/4" by and 1" little opening. Fun fun fun!! Thanks again. JJ

final update- While I'll put this all back together tomorrow, I did find the Y ball screw lube tube out of it's hole. The tube was pinched near closed. Turns out the Y+ limit switch stop block was too far out causing a pinch if you ran Y to the limit switch. I've moved the Y switch stop to force the table to stop .125 before pinching the tube. Not sure I want to pull the X screw, saddle and everything to redo it all. This should do for now. Thanks for all the help.
