After rebuilding everything but the cross slide and apron, I fired the lathe up. Everything worked fine but the clutch on the apron. In the rebuild book it shows a washer between the clutch lever and apron body. Does anyone have a heavy 10 without the washer and the clutch works fine? Second can some one tell me how the washer is on their lathe?

Thanks
Allen

I'm guessing that the washer is there to prevent wear to the cast iron surface of the apron, I suppose that it is hardened.

Maybe so. If I can find one or get the dimensions to make one, i will be a happy man.

Assuming yours is the lever rather than the star-wheel, the washer is .225 thick x 1.5 OD. You'll have to figure out the ID. I don't believe it's hardened, it just creates a surface large enough for the cam of the lever to ride on.
