I have never liked the bump knurling tools. I found them hard on the cross feed nut on my 10K Southbend.
After doing a fair amount of knurling there was a noticeable increase in the play between the cross feed nut and shaft.
I bought a quick change tool post for my new lathe and took the bump knurling tool that came with it and sawed off the bump knurling tool and grafted a scissor knurling tool on to it.
