[Deals] Axa Toolpost Upgrade Hercus 9x22 Lathe

I had a couple of choices for tool holders for my hercus lathe in the arsenal.


as you can see the CX toolpost wouldn't barely fit on the compound...

i have a Shenwai 12x36 that also has a AXA clone.
i figured if i equipped the Hercus with an AXA ,
i'd really only need to buy 1 facing/turning holder for it and share the other holders 4 holders that came in the original set.
i purchased the first AXA from Shars (Discount Machine -ebay) about 4 years ago and was pleased with the performance, so i figured i couldn't go wrong with installing a proven asset.

i found a great deal on the AXA post all by it's self ready for shipment from:

it shipped fast.

i cut and milled the T nut and mounted it on the Hercus with ease!


a perfect fit and an easy project that added great versatility, at a discount price!

The one we have on a 30x150 lathe at work makes a CXA look that small.

Be sure you have your lathe bolted down good. That thing could tip it over if you rack the cross slide out very far.

The CXA is going to end up on Persephone, my Antique Flather Lathe (16"x 5').
i'm on the hunt for some tool holders now....

On my 9" I use a AXA the tool post has ben on 3 lathes works great

Idk I think maybe a DA Or EA size would Realy make that lathe shine. I need a DA on my lathe but they are not cheap and hard too find. So CA it stays
